The work on Road & Street Infrastructure has involved detailed off-street strategies keeping in mind accessibility, pedestrian movement & engagement, and bicycle paths. It entailed the evaluation, assessment, design, and siting of transportation facilities. The road network has been designed to allow the citizen body to move through the city with minimum delays. Flexible pavements have been used along all the roads, with electricity wires, and water pipe lines laid under them. This ensured that, for maintenance, sections of pavement blocks need only be removed and the reinstalled, without disturbing the roads.
Road crossings, opening at one end, and allowing access to the road at the other, guide pedestrian movement. Curbing has also been of significant importance in the design of the roads.
