“Artistic expression in landscape design is not a function of scale; rather it is governed by the narratives that the designer chooses to tell.”

Under the brand name ‘Supremus’ are a series of small boutique offices built in Upper Worli, Worli, and Powai. The sites are tight urban plots with very little space available for landscape. Responding to this, the design endeavor has been to use every chance to connect people back to the materials of nature.
The landscape, then, surrounds various forms that perform a variety of functions; giving a sense of being surrounded by nature.
The Worli offices have fountains spewing from gabions filled with rock; almost reminiscent of the wire barriers that regulate rocks and sand along mountain ranges.
The terrace cafes have been treated as small landscape islands with wood screens that shield the users from the sun. In the Powai offices, the terrace has also been dotted with large boulders – an ode to the Western Ghats, and the flora of the region.
Like in the offices located in Upper Worli, seating structures have been engulfed by a variety of plants.
The driveway of the Upper Worli offices is lined with metal tree silhouettes – a backdrop to the creepers that they support.
At all times, the landscape design of these office spaces challenges the conventional possibilities.
At first glance, the landscape seems to conform to the controlled nature of the architecture; it is in the details that the unconventional lies, almost demanding a second glance.
